KEY DUTIES
- Review the ChildFund education strategy and program activities to ensure quality standards and alignment with the policies, guidelines, and appropriate curriculum of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS).
- Lead in proposal development and implementation of education programs aimed at enhancing the academic performance of children in pre- and primary school through innovative and creative approaches to achieve ChildFund’s goal.
- Conduct time to time, individual and team’s technical assessment to identify the gaps in technical aspects among FC’s and relevant partner NGOs leading on education sector and develop a holistic capacity strengthening plan with clear time, resources, methods, and performance indicators.
- Establish in-house capacity of ChildFund Cambodia by developing organizational resources in education sector particularly on the E2L model which include the guidelines, manuals, tools, systems, software’s, reading bench-marks, monitoring tools, teacher’s capacity building guide, selection tools for community coaches, librarians etc. through various active stakeholders.
- Collect and analyse data, as the need may arise for purposes of regular reporting as well as for mid-term and evaluation about the quality of project implementation and the achievement of objectives.
- Project quality monitoring using various practical mentoring approaches to take along relevant FC and partners and through problem-resolving mechanism, ensure to improve the quality of implemented education projects.
- Conduct and coordinate workshops at national and sub-national levels, engage in ongoing dialogue with MoEYS, and represent ChildFund Cambodia in various formal and informal relevant technical education forums.
- In circumstances where overlap may occur, coordination of cross-sector activities with all specialists and the provincial manager to assure program integration and a comprehensive approach throughout the education sector.
- Coordinate and establish network with other likeminded local and FNGOs including the government ministries for the collection of latest training discourses relevant to pre and primary education model and for the capacity strengthening of FC’s and partner’s team.
- Perform other tasks that may be requested by the Head of Program.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor degree in education or social development;
- Solid experience in Education area providing support in term of Education technical inputs;
- Solid demonstratable experience of capacity building of team and partners using latest methods of adult learning processes.
- Proven experience of assessing the KAP, designing a tailor-made / need-based capacity building plans, ability to analyse the changes and feedback mechanisms.
- Experience in project design, implementation, monitoring and learning experience, preferably in education project;
- Experience working with children, youths in rural community and government partners; and
- A highly self-motivated and committed person with a strong interest in learning.
- Have sound understanding on the aspects related to improving performances of the early grade students
- Sound understanding of the school leadership and management competence building
- Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding or sexual exploitation, abuse or harassment (SEAH) risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding and PSEAH policy and procedures, and conduct yourself consistent with those policies.
