We are looking to hire a District Support Officer to provide all-round Upskill support to all users in a specific county.

What does the role entail?
As the District Support Officer, you will be responsible for helping schools and districts implement their professional development plans and expand the use of Upskill training within and across school districts that you work in collaboration with.
More specifically you will;
- Work with the Chief Programme Officer and Country Lead: Ghana to sustain and grow Instill's impact through regionally-focused instructional leadership development programming
- Serve as the key driver for partnership development and expansion in the districts and regions that you support
- Work with the Chief Learning Officer and Academic Team to deliver the most up-to-date Upskill programme offerings to partner districts, schools, and regions
- Provide tailored support to school districts for their professional development needs
- Collaborate with local partners to set goals for coaching engagements, regular progress monitoring and communication, and cooperation with local stakeholders to remove roadblocks to coaching implementation
- Provide individualized coaching to partner principals, school inspector support officers, and/or district officers
- Facilitate regular data and video review/practice lab protocols
- Facilitate problem-solving and action-planning consultancies within supported districts
- Conduct district site visits using Instill site visit protocols in order to observe and gather data, identify areas of strength as well as gaps, and lead site-based action planning driven by site visit outcomes and Instill instructional leadership programme content
- Work with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to develop improvement plans
- Monitor and evaluate school and district performance
- Provide coaching and mentoring to teachers and administrators on how to best utilize Upskill’s offerings
- Facilitate feedback and engagement sessions with users
- Collect and analyse user data to identify areas of need and track progress
- Collaborate with other district staff to ensure that all users have a pleasant user experience
Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor of Education or related teaching qualification
- 8+ years of experience in a related stakeholder support role
- At least three years of school leadership experience as a head teacher or equivalent role supporting and coaching teachers in under-resourced communities with demonstrated student achievement, including experience with teacher observation and feedback, leading data analysis with teachers, leading school culture, and leading professional development (required)
- Experience managing school leaders and/or instructional programmes as a school inspection support officer (preferred)
- Ability to travel at least 20% (required) and up to 40% time (preferred)
- Experience with Instill instructional leadership programming content, either as an Upskill user or as a leader in a school using Instill instructional leadership programme practices (preferred)
- Systems-thinker with strong organizational skills
- Strong team orientation and collaborative nature
- Ability to work efficiently and intensely in an entrepreneurial environment
- Have experience in the Ghanaian education sector
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and resolve issues
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
