We are seeking a Director of Strategic Partnerships to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.
What you get to do:
In collaboration with the Head of Strategy and other Business Line Leaders, you will be responsible for setting the strategy, the prioritization, management, growth, and health of Uplight’s strategic partnerships. You will create the operating model for how Uplight interacts with strategic partners, the commercial terms in how we do business with them, and the key performance indicators for how Uplight measures success.. Strategic partners may include any or all of the following:
- Go-to-market partners;
- Product partners (e.g. smart device manufacturers);
- Software integrators; and/or
- Other program implementation providers.
The leader of a strategic partnership is ultimately responsible for cross-organizational collaboration and delivering value from the partnership whether through direct or dotted line reporting.
What you will contribute:
- Work across the company to inform strategic partnership direction
- Collaborate with Business Line Leaders to establish the template for how partnerships (strategic and other) are managed across the organization
- Develop the process and evaluation criteria to identify strategic partners vs. other partners to be handled directly within specific functional areas of the company (e.g. Product, Sales & Marketing, etc.)
- Advise and support the company to integrate strategic partners into future product decisions
- Structure commercial agreements with strategic partners that maximize value contribution to Uplight
- Prepare strategic partner account plans in conjunction with Uplight business planning process to drive revenue and/or earnings growth
- Develop, define, and track key metrics to analyze strategic partner growth, health, performance against plan
- Report on strategic partnership performance to Uplight Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors, as needed
- Originate new strategic partnership opportunities that align with Uplight’s overall growth strategy
What you bring to Uplight:
- An unrelenting passion for delivering results
- 5+ years of relevant work experience managing partnerships, working in corporate strategy and/or strategy consulting
- Experience in the energy sector with a focus on clean energy, energy transition, decarbonization, and/or utilities
- Track record using method-driven approaches to drive results through partnerships and grow existing business
- Ability to bring together cross-functional teams to execute collaboratively
- Ability to form fact-based, data driven, supportable recommendations to executive and Board level leaders
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability and desire to work independent of constant direction from leadership
- Ability to articulate the value of Uplight and its solutions to partners and to leverage this to drive maximum revenue and earnings growth potential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience building strong relationships at all levels of partner organizations
- Alignment with Uplight’s mission and corporate values
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required

Salary Range: $150k-190k USD (dependent on experience)
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
