World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Director, People & Culture Strategic Operations.
Working closely with the Senior Vice President of People & Culture, the Director of Strategy & Operations plays a critical leadership role in advancing the strategic priorities within the People & Culture function and across the broader organization. Responsible for planning, integrating, and overseeing strategic People & Culture projects and initiatives from ideation to implementation to measurement and evaluation, to ensure efficient, timely, and effective execution. In addition, this role will assess emerging matters and requests to determine the appropriate courses of action, as well as identify high risk and urgent matters that require the Senior Vice President’s attention. Will also play a hands-on role in leading and managing targeted strategic or high-profile initiatives.
- Lead the implementation of the People & Culture strategy and cross-functional projects by identifying and bringing together the internal stakeholders necessary to help drive the projects and to ensure broad buy-in and adoption.
- Work with the SVP to set strategic priorities and identify areas requiring planning and attention, while tracking metrics to monitor progress and impact.
- Proactively identify opportunities for integration and collaboration between People & Culture functional areas, as well as potential strategic opportunities and challenges; recommend courses of action or solutions.
- Manage implementation plans and ensure appropriate coordination and communication.
- Track progress against deadlines and create indicators to accurately measure success and identify areas of improvement for operational priorities.
- Plan and facilitate regular program management reviews (PMR) to review and discuss the status of key organizational initiatives.
- Compile detailed and accurate information on current operational initiatives and create written and verbal communication materials for the SVP to regularly update the senior leadership and/or the Board of Directors.
- Work collaboratively to resolve and/or mitigate issues and concerns; respond to questions; manage requests on the SVP’s behalf.
- Work closely with other senior management and executive office staff to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and collectively mobilize cross-functional teams to advance projects.
- Create materials, presentations, talking points, and correspondence to internal and external high-level stakeholders.
- Coordinate with key stakeholders to create and update monthly/quarterly dashboards to track changes in key metrics and project implementation.
- Lead the development and implementation of the People & Culture communications strategy, working in partnership with the internal communications team to make decisions based on overall organizational priorities and identify internal and external stakeholder outreach opportunities.
- As a confidential thought partner, act as sounding board to the SVP and P&C leadership team to drive forward organizational decisions, promote community, and encourage department-wide team engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 4 years of experience in Business Administration, Human Resources or related discipline and 10+ years of demonstrated experience in human resources and/or project management. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience working within a human resources function strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated exceptional planning, organization, and time management skills; ability to drive multiple and competing priorities to completion with limited guidance.

Location: This position is based in DC, with regular in-office work requirements as a part of a hybrid work schedule.
