What is the opportunity?
The Director of Partnership Services and Administration leads a talented and capable management team that supports the entire Partnerships & Communications (P&C) division. This role oversees the Partner Services group, which serves external partners and volunteers with guest reception and donor relations, including gift processing and data management. The role also oversees the P&C Administration team, which performs the division’s operational and administrative duties and executes events, trips, projects and initiatives. The Director of Partnership Services and Administration can work remotely or from Water Mission’s headquarters in N. Charleston, SC. The role reports to the Senior Director of Partnerships Engagement and Administration. A successful Director of Partnership Services and Administration will:
General
- Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, donors, volunteers, those we serve, and the general public.
- Maintain high-level knowledge of Water Mission’s organizational objectives, programmatic strategies, projects, and activities. Stay informed of local, regional, national, and global news and issues to support the P&C Administration department effectively.
- Effectively communicate about the global water crisis and Water Mission’s vision, mission, and solutions to various audiences.
Managerial Duties
- Oversee P&C Project Managers; Senior Manager of Partner Services; and Senior Manager of Events, Trips, and Logistics.
- Perform supervisory duties, including, but not limited to, ensuring milestones, goals, and deadlines are met; processing invoices; and approving time and expenses.
- Oversee the hiring and onboarding process for all direct reports.
- Actively promote a healthy culture and unity among the team.
Partner Services Leadership
- In collaboration with the Senior Manager, Partner Services:
- Equip the Partner Services team in all aspects of customer service to ensure care in a timely manner, with love, excellence, integrity and hospitality.
- Identify and implement process improvements that drive departmental efficiencies to meet growing ministry needs.
- Develop team and system capacity to provide phone and gift processing coverage during seasonal spikes, disaster responses, and special events.
- Establish policies, procedures, training, and quality control to equip staff and ensure excellence in donor communication, response, and data entry.
- In concert with IT and Finance departments, ensure data integrity and donor database cleanliness. Maintain knowledge of best practices related to gift processing and data hygiene. Document and update procedures as needed and monitor data integrity and database quality within the Raiser’s Edge database.
- Review response metrics and prepare performance reports for leadership by summarizing data and trends.
- Work with the Marketing and Communications team to develop Partner Services resources (e.g., talking points and communication templates).
- Work with the Senior Director of Investor Partnerships to ensure coordinated care plans and processes for partners under the care of a Partnership Manager or Director.
- Ensure compliance with charitable giving standards and legislation in coordination with the Accounting team and the Senior Manager of Partner Services.
P&C Administration
Finance/Reporting
- Oversee and monitor income and expense budgets for the P&C division.
- Oversee the preparations of P&C division forecasts and financials and develop reporting and analytics to inform ministry strategy and goals.
Project and System Management
- Support the Executive Vice President of P&C and the Senior Director of Partnerships Engagement and Administration in identifying and prioritizing projects that improve the division’s efficiency and effectiveness.
- Coordinate with the IT department on all software utilized by P&C division to optimize and align systems with division goals and activities.
- Lead P&C Project Managers to ensure the successful execution of P&C special projects and ministry-wide projects involving the P&C division (e.g., technology integration, fund development initiatives, and program development projects).
- Ensure P&C Project Managers adhere to organizational project standards and protocols.
- Manage key strategic projects for the ministry as assigned.
Event and Trip Management
- Lead Senior Manager, Events, Trips, and Logistics in executing best-in-class events, headquarter tours, and vision trips.

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Administration, Project Management, or Development; Master’s degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in project management and/or donor development.
- 5+ years of experience in successfully managing multi-faceted teams.
- Experience with Smartsheet or other project management software preferred.
- Superior level of organization and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, diplomatic, articulate, approachable, and focused on long-term effectiveness.
- Technical proficiency in database management, computer systems, and software solutions; Blackbaud suite of products preferred.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities while maintaining high standards and a positive team approach to working with internal and external partners.
- Thrives under pressure and has a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
- Experience working with senior leadership as a strategic advisor.
- Experience in budgeting and forecasting is a plus.
- Home internet bandwidth strong enough to support video conferencing and other job-related responsibilities is required.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Flexibility to work periodic nights and weekends as required for ministry operations.
