What You Will Do

• ​​Define the future vision and roadmap of all ML and optimization capabilities
• Define product specifications and detailed use cases
• Manage the scientific direction Flashfood's ML methodology
• Coordinate and direct product priorities across data science product teams
• Work with key stakeholders and customers to identify pain-points and new opportunities
• Coordinate and execute across multiple teams to deliver continuous upgrades and enhancements to model quality and functionality
• Collaborate with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Consistently seek to improve processes, reduce repetition, and challenge the status quo

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

• 5+ years of industry (post academic) experience in a machine learning based computer vision development environment and has successfully building and shipping commercial-grade products

• Proven track record of building and leading high-performing ML teams

• Deep technical expertise in ML, data science, and statistics, with experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models at scale

• Strong mathematical background: PDE, linear algebra, Fourier transform, multivariate and high dimensional modeling, statistics/probability theory for object detection methodologies

• Strong theoretical knowledge in machine learning: supervised learning, semi-supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning

• A team-first mindset and a commitment to promoting an inclusive and open-minded company culture

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves and work as an individual contributor when needed

• Strong written/verbal communication skills

• Solid references

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with retail and specifically the retail grocery vertical

• Experience with customer-facing mobile products
