The NDC Partnership brings together 120 countries, developed and developing, and 86 institutional members to create and deliver ambitious NDCs that help achieve the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Governments identify their NDC implementation priorities and the type of support that is needed to translate them into actionable policies and programs. Based on these requests, the membership offers a tailored package of expertise, technical assistance, and funding. This collaborative response provides developing countries with efficient access to a wide range of resources to adapt to and mitigate climate change and foster more equitable and sustainable development. The NDC Partnership is built on the premise of collective action: by acting together, we achieve more.
Job Highlight:
As the Knowledge Management Associate, you will lead knowledge management systems within the Support Unit and develop analytical products to inform the work of the Partnership. In this position, you will you serve as a key resource on knowledge management issues within the Support Unit. Working within the Knowledge and Learning team, you will manage the Support Unit’s Knowledge Management system, the Knowledge Nook (kNook). This includes management of kNook data input, technical functionality, continual improvements, and trainings, both internal and external. You will develop insightful analytical products that draw on kNook and on country experiences. You will ensure that the team can produce and access timely analysis on a range of topics.
You will be supported by many team members in the Support Unit, including the Knowledge and Learning team of approximately ten members. You will also be liaising with various Country Engagement staff to obtain and cross share information. This position often has technical support from an intern on the team.
You will report to our Knowledge Tools and Research Associate and Director of Knowledge and Learning.
What you will do:
Knowledge management (60%)
Lead a small team to ensure timely input and quality assurance of country requests and support data into kNook
Manage kNook tagging and data structure to ensure the system meets the needs of the NDC Partnership and reflects evolving priorities in the climate space
Collect regular feedback on kNook to inform future developments (including recommendations on where to simplify or expand), and lead the implementation of these changes
Manage consultants and vendors, as needed, to implement regular backend improvements
Explore and implement efficiencies to be gained across team systems, including the NDC Partnership’s M&E framework
Lead knowledge management discussions within the Support Unit and serve as the go-to-person for internal and external knowledge management questions
Lead regular training sessions on the kNook with implementing partners, funders, and Support Unit staff.
Research and analysis (30%)
Produce regular trends reports for the Management Team and members on climate change priority issues, based on kNook data
Provide guidance and produce templates to enable the Support Unit to efficiently produce insights and reports from the kNook
Lead the development of select analytical products to support the Partnership’s in-country engagement, including resource briefs, partnership plan narratives, and support gap summaries
Produce and share regular support gap updates with implementing and development partners
Prepare talking points, presentations and other outreach materials as needed Participate in external meetings and support onboarding new staff and new institutional and associate members
Team system management (10%)
Lead, together with other team system leads, internal training sessions on team systems, focusing on key challenges identified from the previous quarter, and provide regular guidance and support to team members to ensure efficient use of team systems.
Serve as team lead for Monday.org management, including advising on workspace structure, and strategic ways the team can better use the system.
What you will need:
Education: You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Management , Communications
Experience: You have 6+ years of relevant, full-time work experience in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
You also have experience in database management and have managed multiple priorities with fixed deadlines.
Ability to manipulate and analyze data in Excel Technical knowledge of the climate and development fields and of its main actors.
You have worked in a past role that required high-level writing and oral communication skills.
Languages: You have verbal and written fluency in English and proficiency in Spanish and/or French (in addition to English)
