The Role: Sensus, a Xylem brand, is seeking Intern Candidates with a Cyber Security background to join our team.  As a member of the Global Security Operations team, you will work with vulnerability management, SIEM, and NGAV tools to help protect on-prem and cloud-based applications.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to succeed in a fast paced, fluid environment, while ensuring that project initiatives are met. The hourly rate for an intern is dependent on a variety of factors including major, year in school and geographic location. The average hourly rate for an intern is between $21.00 - $27.00/hour. Locations of internships will vary based on the specified project and function, and will either be on-site, hybrid or fully remote.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Desire to build game-changing software applications and analytics tools
  • Take great personal pride in building robust software
  • Strong sense of ownership and drive
  • Passionate about applications, analytics, storage and distributed systems
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced agile environment using Scrum
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer focus
  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • Attending an accredited University studying toward a Bachelors of Science degree in Information Security, Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment of engineers to meet aggressive goals and high quality standards
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS/Azure cloud environments
