Responsibilities

Location: Hybrid opportunity reporting to either of these EDF locations New York, DC., Boston, or Raleigh

Overall Function

The Coordinator, Government Partnerships will be part of the global Government Partnerships team within EDF’s Development Department, focused on the strategic development and management of high-level government relationships. Reporting to the Senior Government Grants Officer, the Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the Government Partnerships team’s efforts to cultivate, solicit, and steward a diverse portfolio of government funders that increasingly provides significant support for EDF to carry out its worldwide mission. The Coordinator will also provide administrative support to the Government Partnerships team’s grant and proposal processes. This position is a growth opportunity for an individual interested in government fundraising to be part of a small and growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Government Partnerships portfolio managers to support relationships with government partners/donor agencies; develop deep familiarity with the portfolio and team strategy.
  • Research, monitor, and analyze public funding opportunities, including funding opportunity announcements.
  • Coordinate the proposal and report development process, including developing timelines, checklists and other tools (i.e., reporting templates); manage workflows across departments, cultures, and time zones to ensure teams stay on track and deadlines are met; support internal approval processes; organize final files and package for submission.
  • Draft, edit, and/or proofread funder materials as well as internal communications.
  • Input and maintain timely and accurate donor information in EDF’s Salesforce database.
  • Maintain, and update when needed, financial projections, as well as track and analyze various fundraising metrics and activities.
  • Assist with donor research and keep abreast of EDF’s priorities to help portfolio managers identify alignment with funding opportunities.
  • Provide administrative support and serve as a resource to Government Partnerships portfolio managers as assigned, including processing and tracking team correspondence; data entry; scheduling, attending, and taking notes for internal and external meetings; and completing expense reports.
  • Other special projects, as assigned
  • Participate in advancing EDF DEI goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address the environmental and organizational challenges in alignment with EDF values.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred
  • Minimum of three years of fundraising and/or project management experience, preferably in a non-profit or academic setting.
  • Experience supporting complex proposal development processes; previous experience with government fundraising or grant administration strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to compose, edit, and expertly proofread donor materials and correspondence, and to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Exceptional organizational, time-management, and administrative skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities. Experience working in a non-profit institution of comparable complexity and scale, including the ability to work effectively with geographically dispersed colleagues, is preferred.
  • Sound strategic and analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with reviewing and analyzing budgets and financial reports is a plus.
  • Excellent judgement and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality while representing the organization and interfacing with all levels of staff at EDF’s national and affiliate offices, as well as with funders, partners, and vendors.
  • Demonstrates self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Strong ability to actively listen and deftly navigate and manage relationships.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, adapt easily to changing situations/priorities, and maintain grace, humor, and compassion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and with donor database(s) required; experience with Salesforce preferred.
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, Environmental Defense Fund’s mission.

Pay Ranges

We offer a strong total rewards package encompassing competitive salary, robust benefits, and professional development opportunities consistent with a modern global organization. We take into account factors such as candidate experience, skills, training, internal team equity and local norms.

Please note that pay ranges are country specific. As a result, the stated currency is not meant be converted into any other currency.

Minimum Salary

USD $62,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary

USD $68,500.00/Yr.
