Job Summary

Textile Exchange is seeking a Coordinator to join the Climate+ Impact team, supporting projects in four key areas:

  • Impact Data, including industry-wide impact tracking, Life Cycle Assessment data, and Textile Exchange’s “LCA+” approach;
  • Impact Tools, including the Preferred Fiber and Materials Matrix (PFMM) and the Global Fiber Impact Explorer (GFIE);
  • Impact Research, Tools, and Guidance on cross-cutting levers such as regenerative agriculture, biodiversity, textile-to-textile circularity, and rethinking growth; and,
  • Policy Engagement, focused on the EU and United States.

The Climate+ Impact team ensures that all Textile Exchange programs and platforms are driving measurable impact reduction and positive outcomes and are enabling achievement of the industry’s “Climate+” goals, which include a 45% reduction in GHG emissions from textile fiber and material production by 2030 while also addressing other interdependent impact areas such as biodiversity, soil health, and water.

Reports to: Director, Climate+ Impact

This role will encompass diverse tasks across projects, including development of presentations, documents, communications, and other materials; project support for research reports, tool development, and other deliverables; interfacing with and representing the Climate+ team and work across internal teams and with members and other external stakeholders; ensuring relevant information is in key systems; other administrative support; and more.

This is an ideal role for someone in the early stages of their career, with significant potential for long-term growth for the right individual.

Like all roles at Textile Exchange, the role will be primarily home-based. Textile Exchange is a United States-based, remote-working organization with a global team; your key colleagues will be in Europe/UK and the United States.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support Impact Area research projects, including but not limited to regenerative agriculture; biodiversity; water; circularity; and degrowth.

  • Support Impact Area Communities of Practice, including but not limited to regenerative agriculture and biodiversity.

  • Support Impact Data collection projects as needed, in partnership with Fibers & Materials, Standards, and Data & Technology Teams.

  • In partnership with Communications team, develop Climate+ content for internal and external newsletters and other communications needs. Proactively engage in relevant topics on The Hub (members-only platform) and answer questions.

  • Develop presentations and other Climate+ resources.

  • Support Membership team with Climate+ questions and needs.

  • Support meetings and calls, including notes and next steps. Ensure information is entered into Salesforce.

  • Support development and execution of Climate+ presentations and meetings at annual Textile Exchange Conference and other events.

  • Support project management tracking in ClickUp as needed.

  • Support other projects on an ad-hoc basis.

  • Keep up-to-date on the latest news, tools, and best practices related to the Climate+ impact areas and the apparel/textile/fashion industry.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Remote, North America or Europe/UK time zones preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or experience in a relevant field.

  • Interested in and passionate about environmental sustainability and about the apparel/textile/fashion sector.

  • Resourceful and eager to learn.

  • Able to work independently in a virtual workplace. Self-motivated and strong work ethic.

  • Team player.

  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and planning skills.

  • Excellent communication, written, and grammatical skills in English.

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and the ability to quickly learn new systems. Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems is preferred. Experience with ClickUp or similar project management software is preferred.

  • Adaptability and ability to deliver value within a rapidly evolving field.

  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally for meetings and events when required.

  • Ability to work across different time zones (within reason, it is not expected that you will work extremely long hours).

Employment Package

  • Position is full-time, 40 hours/week
  • Compensation for this Coordinator role: $38,000-$45,000
  • Work from home, virtual/remote (flexible working hours a must due to differences in international time zones)
  • Textile Exchange is currently unable to provide sponsorship for work permits. Candidates need to have existing right to work in nominated working location.
  • To be filled as soon as possible (start date to be agreed between both parties)
