At Turn.io, we help social impact organisations deliver personalised chat support to vulnerable people globally. As part of the Product team, you’ll be working with product leads, engineers and our clients to create chat experiences that are simple, scalable and effective using the Turn.io product. Your day-to-day will include conversation design, user experience research and design, prototyping and building chat services.
About You
- You are excited about using your skills to have a positive social impact.

- You’re a problem solver with an instinct to think through things by making—a craftsperson who sweats the details of building high quality, elegant, and intuitive chat services based on the people at the centre of the experience.
- You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in user experience and prototyping and can translate new ideas into impactful services. If you have experience with visual design, content design and copywriting, creative technology or natural language understanding, be sure to mention it.
- You love playing with technology. You might not write code, but you understand the basics and like to explore the possibilities and limitations of technical tools.
- Your portfolio proves you can solve a variety of problems for a range of audiences, and no experience is the same, but they all are high quality.
- You have proficiency with a variety of conversation, prototyping and design tools (including basic Figma skills) and you aren’t afraid to try new software and teach yourself new tools, digital or not.
- You have a strong command of the English language—written, read, and spoken—and can clearly articulate the rationale behind your design decisions; if you speak additional languages, even better.
- You are passionate about conversational design and UX and seek to expand your knowledge and grow your skills; even if you’ve been doing this for years, you strive to learn.
Your Responsibilities:
- Design conversational experiences in collaboration with our key clients using our product
- Review, provide feedback and collaborate with our product manager, engineers and designers to improve the user experience and design of our product
- Collaborate with product designers and engineers on the ideation and user experience design of new and existing features
- Keep the team up to date with the latest conversational design trends and how they impact our clients and users in the developing world
- Upskill the Partnerships and Support team in great conversational design so they can better support our clients
- Participate in our Chat for Impact Community forum and events by sharing best practices
