Position Purpose
A versatile position within a dynamic non-profit that provides community-inspired, volunteer-powered disaster relief. The position is full-time and responsible for leading groups of skilled and unskilled volunteers in construction projects in disaster-impacted communities.

Essential Functions
- Lead teams of staff and volunteers in construction projects and offer skilled troubleshooting and technical advice on worksites.
- Teach unskilled volunteers construction skills depending on the scope of work, detailed in the below section, and oversee those tasks on sites.
- Train unskilled volunteers how to safely use common hand tools and power tools (e.g., circular saw, impact driver, reciprocating saw, hammerdrill, miter saw, table saw etc.). and conduct tool trainings for new volunteers.
- Adhere to an agreed set of safety and quality standards and ensure these standards are maintained, reporting any near misses, injuries, and best practices to review with the team.
- Support the field team with work tracking using Salesforce, including recording of work completed, material usage, volunteer hours and scopes of work performed.
- Support the Project Manager and field team in planning the work flow on construction sites and creating the daily work boards.
- Hold daily morning meetings on site to explain and divide the work for a day, reviewing safety and emergency procedures.
- Communicate tasks and expectations clearly to team members, providing effective technical training and constructive feedback when necessary to ensure compliance with project safety and quality standards.

- Maintain and promote a culture of safety on and off the worksite, including strict adherence to health, safety , and security policies and procedures
- We have decided to relax the requirement for Covid-19 vaccination for on program staff. While we still strongly recommend Covid-19 vaccination, along with other standard and travel immunizations as recommended by the CDC and WHO, Covid-19 vacation will no longer be required

Position Requirements
- Education High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training in carpentry, masonry or in another related field is preferred.
- Related Experience Previous All Hands and Hearts experience preferred. 1+ years professional construction experience. Knowledge of health and safety construction standards.
- Special Competencies/Certifications Must be able to secure and maintain appropriate visas. Good written and oral communication skills and confidence working with Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets and Microsoft Office. The individual needs to be well organized and have a flexible approach to managing multiple tasks and prioritizing them appropriately. Must have a good understanding of construction and demolition in practice. Strong leadership skills with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems and the ability to manage a large workload and perform in a fast-paced environment. Start date in early May.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay rate is $850-$1,225 USD/ month, based on position, skills and experience
