Job Summary:
Reporting to the Rochester Hub Construction Manager the 2nd shift Construction Manager will be responsible for management and oversight of Li-Cycle’s contractors and subcontractors performing construction field work during the night shift. The Construction Manager will ensure all work is being performed safely and in accordance with the engineering designs for the Rochester Hub. Viewed as an integral member of the Li-Cycle construction management team, this role will seek to provide continuity and seamless handover of management duties between day and night shift site activities.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Act as a member of Li-Cycle’s Construction Management team for the Hub project
- Help with preparation of building and other permit applications with the local municipality
- Management & oversight of construction field work in accordance with the engineering design and project schedule
- Interface with construction contractors and subcontractors for the Hub project
- Review of construction contractor proposals, estimates, and schedules
- Provide constructability input to the engineering design
- Monitor contractor quality control and quality assurance plan compliance
- Participate in 3D model design reviews with the engineering teams
- Ensure all company and project policies, procedures, standards, etc., are adhered to
- Provide direction to planning, scheduling, and engineering functions as required
- Review project construction material laydown requirements and delivery procedures
- Coordinate with construction contractors for temporary construction facilities and utility supply
- Coordinate site visits and other activities by suppliers, contractors, consultants, etc.
- Establish an active presence and owner representation on the construction site
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction as required
Job Qualifications:
- Completion of a Construction, Building Technology Diploma or Engineering Degree
- 8 or more years of Industrial Construction experience,
- Licensed Electrical or Mechanical Journeyman
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans
- A solid understanding of all construction trades and construction techniques
- Ability to work safely in a construction environment
- Labor relations and union contract and procedure expertise
- Commitment to working in a team environment, with established team building abilities
- Strong communication, leadership, integration, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Understanding fundamentals of contracts and experience in managing contractors under the terms of a contract
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and related building codes
- Possess a valid drivers license and ability to travel if needed
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft computer software (e.g. Excel, Word, etc.) and email
