Who are we?
Svante is a rapidly growing clean energy technology company making commercial-scale carbon capture and removal a reality and enabling global industries to play offense in the fight against climate change that will accelerate the global transition to a lower-carbon economy. The growing success of our company is owed to our commitment to our people, our emphasis on our values, and our innovative technology. Passion is put into what we do every day.
The role: Computational Fluid Dynamics Specialist
Who are you?
Carbon Dioxide capture and production using Structured Adsorbent Beds (SAB’s) relies on efficient delivery and removal of feed gases, conditioning gases, steam, and carbon dioxide to and from the adsorbents. The CAD/CFD specialist will support the Gas Flow Team by informing and supporting the definition of the SABs in collaboration with Research & Development, Product Manufacturing, and SAB Engineering.
The specific capabilities we are looking for include 2-years of experience with CAD software, preferably Creo and Solidworks. We also require this engineer to have experience converting structural/design CAD from these software platforms for use in CFD applications. For our needs, this requires experience with ANSYS SpaceClaim, along with the general knowledge of what features of a CAD model are relevant to a CFD simulation. We require that the applicant has sufficient knowledge of ANSYS products, such as ANSYS Fluent, for CFD simulation, and familiarity with ANSYS mechanical for FEA simulation. The experience level for these simulation software platforms should be a minimum of a year, and experience at the educational level or industry level are both acceptable
As this role will support the execution of SAB development technologies, the Research and Development team, along with the Core Product Technology Team, a basic understanding of fluid dynamics theory is required. The CAD/CFD Specialist will inform key stakeholders about how the role of CAD conversion to CFD analysis theory and simulation will affect and achieve assessed target values from the simulation results.
The CAD/CFD specialist will be expected and encouraged to provide support and mentorship to all members of the Research and Development and Core Product Technology teams. The CAD/CFD Specialist is responsible, at all times, to represent Svante Goals and Values to internal and external customers and suppliers.
CAD/CFD Tools and Techniques
Working within the framework of Svante Values and Goals, CAD and CFD members of the Gas Flow Team identify, research, develop, and maintain the key technologies required for the movement of gases through Adsorbent Machines, delivering all technical data required for the manufacture and implementation of ducts, nozzles, flow chambers, and connections in the form of technology packages to be integrated.
