The Role

The Compliance Officer – International Programs supports ChildFund Australia's Country Offices in ensuring their compliance processes are aligned with ChildFund Australia’s Policies and Procedures, the ACFID Code of Conduct, and DFAT standards. The Compliance Officer will provide administrative and compliance support, focusing on the Mekong region, including with annual ANCP ADPlan submissions and Performance Reporting.

This is a part-time, fixed-term role based in Surry Hills, Sydney. ChildFund Australia supports our staff in maintaining a sustainable and healthy work-life balance, and encourages a culture of flexibility around working arrangements, as well as a hybrid working model, to make this possible. As such, this role allows for one day a week working from home.

Key duties of the role

  • Monitoring compliance regulations for the purpose of DFAT accreditation
  • Manage Accountable Now annual reporting and compliance requirements
  • Highlighting compliance gaps and recommending and/or developing appropriate solutions
  • Coordinate the Design & Appraisal process for new projects for Country Offices in the Mekong region
  • Provide coordination for ANCP reporting requirements
  • Oversee due diligence checking processes for new corporate partners
  • Various administrative functions such as supporting Technical Advisors, providing project support and reporting
  • Strengthen local partnerships and/or relationships, e.g., through capacity sharing to support localisation
  • Promote and integrate gender equality, disability, and social inclusion into day-to-day work
  • Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding or sexual exploitation, abuse, or harassment (SEAH) risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding and PSEAH policy and procedures, and conduct yourself consistent with those policies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and database skills
  • An understanding of child-focused community development practices
  • Knowledge of the ACFID Code of Conduct and DFAT accreditation standards
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
  • Proven attention to detail and to meeting tight deadlines

Employment: Part-time (0.6FTE), 12-month fixed-term employment agreement.

Reports to: Global Programs Director, Mekong and Grants

Other Information: Must have full working rights in Australia.
