Responsibilities

As we continue to look for more sustainable ways to build, we need world-class talents to join our team. People who are passionate about sustainability, driven by curiosity and want to grow and learn.

The Compliance and Safety Data Specialist ensures that all necessary product labels and data sheets are available in order to sell the Holcim products and that all products meet regulatory requirements; in order to do so this person works with various experts/consultants.

• Provide REACH, CLP, GHS expertise
• Follow up on new developments to the REACH, CLP,...  regulations
• Screening of new products in relation to REACH requirements
• Classification of substances and mixtures to REACH, CLP and other global classification systems.
• REACH registration of imported products
• PIC notification and annual reporting for relevant products
• Record keeping for critical information to support the REACH processes: downstream users, communication with regulatory authorities,...
• Monitor and follow up on compliance requirements for the Middle East & Asia market
• Preparing product SDS utilizing appropriate and agreed SDS authoring software.
• Conversion of English SDS into required languages with the addition of local requirements.
• Preparing product labels taking into account the applicable legal requirements

Education/Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in chemistry, bio-chemistry or Engineering, 4 – 5 years of experience

Experience

• Master or Bachelor degree in chemistry, bio-chemistry or Engineering (chemical / bio)  with a first working experience preferably within product compliance
• Active knowledge and experience with regards to  REACH / CLP / GHS regulations and requirements .
• Able to work independently and self-organized but also in team.

Knowledge & Skills

• Computer skills: MSOffice, Google workspace, SDS software (ExESS or similar),  Ilustrator is a plus.

Language Requirements

You are fluent in English and Dutch or French. German is a plus.
