Sacred Heart Community Service is hiring a
Outreach and Community Development (40%-50%)
Leads efforts to train, recruit, and develop a diverse set of new and current members with unique skills and relationships with the potential to expand the Sacred Heart Community of volunteers. These communities may include, but are not limited to, LGBTQ clients, immigrant communities, and bilingual clients who speak English and Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Spanish.
Facilitates and increases the leadership of volunteer members as promoters and ambassadors in our work through outreach, one-to-one meetings, group training, and community-building activities.
Become the primary contact for vital community partners with diverse constituencies in organizing and coordinating engagement activities, such as outreach, drives for in-kind donations, community events, and others.
Oversee and implement data collection and tracking of outreach and leadership development initiatives.
Represents SHCS at meetings with community partners as assigned.
Supports agency online outreach efforts
provides translation support as needed
Social Equity and Community Resource Education (25%-35%)
Trains volunteers to navigate community resource systems and serve as champions of the agency’s mission.
Coordinates curriculum development, material preparation, and training for staff and volunteer participation in education/orientation efforts with an aim toward diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Coordinates and co-leads the implementation of social equity education journeys, including recruitment, scheduling, group orientation/reflection, follow-up, and reengagement.
Supports the development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of member orientation activities, agency tours, resource navigation policies, and procedures
Coordinates the development, outreach, and implementation of community forums/events on poverty-related issues.
General (15%-25%)
Supports Volunteer Office by welcoming and scheduling volunteers and providing customer service
Supports the planning and implementation of agency-wide programs, events, outreach efforts, and diversity, equity, and inclusion training and is available to work during the holiday season.
Acts as a “mandated reporter” by maintaining strict adherence to California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Law
Performs other duties as assigned
