Nonviolent Peaceforce is hiring a

Community of Practice Intern

🇺🇸 Virtual, MN, US 📝 INTERN 🎯 MID LEVEL

We work with people affected by violent conflicts to enhance their security and dignity through unarmed civilian protection (UCP). We work to reduce violence and protect civilians in countries affected by violent conflict and its aftermath and to help transform the world’s response to conflict situations. Current programs are based in Myanmar, Philippines, Iraq, South Sudan, and the United States.

Job Summary

  • The intern will work with a team to organize a dynamic international face to face gathering for practitioners, partners and academics involved with unarmed civilian protection and accompaniment scheduled for 8-12 October in Geneva.

  • Internship will run from approximately March 20 - October 15

  • Schedule is approximately 10-15 hours per week

Job Responsibilities

Support the development of workshops:

  • Support planners
  • Schedule meetings
  • Organize materials
  • Research resources
  • Facilitate communication

Support logistics

  • Help coordinate transportation
  • Help organize conference materials
  • Coordinate communication of Loomio
  • Other task as they arise and time allows

Required Qualifications

  • Working ability in English
  • Microsoft Office
  • Zoom Dexterity
  • Commitment to work cooperatively and grow personally
  • Commitment to the mission of Nonviolent Peaceforce

Please note, due to volume of applicants we will only respond to those whom we will request to interview.

Note: Due to Covid-19, NP-US staff are largely working remotely, with staggered presence and health precautions observed in the office. As we are likely to continue working remotely through the spring and summer, this position does not need to be located in the Twin Cities area.
