Responsibilities

As we continue to look for more sustainable ways to build, we need world-class talents to join our team. People who are passionate about sustainability, driven by curiosity and want to grow and learn.

The Codes & Approvals Engineer ensures that all necessary test certificates, product and system approvals are available in order to sell the Holcim products and all products meet regulatory requirements; in order to do so this person works with various experts/consultants.

1. CE Certification

• Define Factory Production Control (FPC) procedures
• Make sure FPC is properly implemented in the plants
• Test products as per CE requirements
• Coordinate deliverance of FPC certificates with notified body
• Creation and update of DoP (EN) for CE certified products
• Private Label: 3-party agreement and DoP creation

2. Products and system testing/approvals

• Contact external bodies for testing and certification. Arrange sample preparation and schedule testing. Draft technical files and drawings. Follow up on test results and maintain our test reports database
• Assist in product audits at our factories. Provide auditors with the requested samples, data, and statistics regarding the manufactured products
• Negotiate and set up contracts for testing and follow-up with Notified Bodies
• Coordinate follow-up testing during validity period of approval

3. Standardization

• Participate in national and international committees
• Maintain database of relevant test and product standards

4. Sales/technical Support

• Offer technical support to internal stakeholders (sales, regional technical teams, product managers, R&D
• Answer queries related to codes and approvals
• Participate in technical meetings

Education/Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering, 4-5 years of experience

Experience

• You have a Master (or Bachelor) degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Construction)  with a first working experience preferably within compliance / quality / product testing environments.
• Knowledge of certification process of building materials with an international experience is a plus.
• Able to work independently and self-organized but also in team.

Knowledge & Skills

• Computer skills: MSOffice, Google workspace. AutoCAD is a plus.

Language Requirements

You are fluent in English and Dutch or French. German is a plus.
