About the Job

We are currently seeking a mid-level Scientist in our Investigation and Remediation business area. Preferred disciplines are chemistry or environmental science with a chemistry focus.  The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, well-organized, experienced individual who can provide technical and strategic contribution on client projects related to upland sites. The candidate will have rich and varied experience in preparation of SAPs and QAPPs, quality assurance, managing subcontractors, have a high degree of technical competence, and be able to effectively communicate with internal and external clients. The ideal candidate will work independently and take direction from clients and senior leadership and ensure that tasks are executed on time and accurately by the project team.

Responsibilities

As a mid-level scientist, your job functions will include, but not be limited to:

  • Preparing QAPPs and SAPs
  • Managing laboratory and data validation subcontractors
  • Supporting field programs by organizing, tracking, and reporting for sample collection and field activities
  • Performing quality assurance reviews of technical analyses and results
  • Performing technical tasks supporting fate and transport evaluations
  • Researching, summarizing, and preparing technical reports and environmental data

Qualifications

Candidates should hold B.S. degree in chemistry, geology, environmental science, environmental or civil engineering, or related technical field.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of professional experience
  • Field and/or laboratory experience desired
  • Proficiency with current MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong quantitative and problem solving skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • A desire to grow intellectually and professionally

Annual Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000

An employee’s total compensation package includes annual salary, company-subsidized (employee and family) medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) participation with a company-match of 1% to 4% of annual compensation, company-paid life and short- and long-term disability, paid sick leave (80 hours per year), paid vacation (10 days or 12 days; determined by title at hire), paid holidays (9 days per year), and the potential for an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance. Paid time off will be pro-rated to reflect part-time scheduled hours, if applicable.
