Principal Functions and Purpose of the position:
This position is a member of the Visitor Experience (VE) Management team based at Hoi Ha Wan Marine Life Studies Centre and Hoi Ha Visitor Centre. This involves people management, facilities management, overseeing Hoi Ha Wan public visits, citizen science programmes, festival and developing new programmes and exhibits at the Centre. Leading and mentoring eco-guides in the delivery of public and community group visit programmes at the Centre.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Hoi Ha Wan Marine Life Studies Centre and Hoi Ha Visitor Centre
- Manage premises and facilities maintenance, perform regular inspection of premises and equipment to identify repair and maintenance needs, ensure Centre operations comply with work and safety requirements, and relevant licensing compliance.
- Manage visitors bookings and inquiries, and manpower planning.
- Develop and organize events, programmes, eco-tours, workshops, and marine citizen science activities.
- Collaborate and support marine conservation team’s initiatives.
- Promote and educate visitors about marine protected areas (MPAs) and be the liaison with government bodies, contractors, and community groups.
Required Functional Skills:
- Degree holder in hospitality and facilities management, or related disciplines
- Minimum 8 years of solid experience in relevant disciplines, with at least 5 years of management responsibility
- Exposure in marine biology and sustainability training would be an advantage.
- Proven experience in Centre operations and facilities management.
- Experience in developing, maintaining, and implementing Standard Operating Procedures.
- Good at budget control.
- Proficiency in spoken Cantonese and English, good command of written English
- Vehicle Driving and Coxswain qualifications preferred.
- Willing to work during weekends and public holidays

Work Locations: Hoi Ha Wan Marine Studies Centre (may require to work in different office/centre locations according to working needs)
