Working hours: +/- 8.5 hours per day, five (5) days within a seven (7) day week. Occasional weekend work will be required depending upon operational demands

As the Bushwise Project and People Manager you will be responsible for the efficient and successful completion of assigned projects. You can successfully coordinate the efforts of the Bushwise team and ensure that all project requirements of the organisation are met. You are also responsible for the identification and assessment of new project opportunities. The Projects Manager provides leadership and direction to the Bushwise team and interacts with clients and stakeholders to ensure that all goals and objectives of the organisation are being met.

You are someone that has a strong ability to oversee and manage projects from start to finish. You are able to effectively communicate with all levels of management and be able to work independently as well as within a team environment.

We are looking for an experienced, capable leader, with exceptional people skills, extensive multi-operations experience and commercial partnership management. You should enjoy and excel in programme development, project management as well as effectively managing and motivating multiple teams. You should also be about training, the Field Guiding Industry and youth development.

This position will work closely with the Director to assist in the planning, implementation, and management of the new expansion plans for the company, as well as programme development, building and maintaining partnerships and achieving the financial and quality goals of the organisation.

The Project Manager will assist and be involved with the day-to-day operations of the institution, including planning, implementing, and monitoring projects and initiatives. They will ensure the successful implementation of projects and initiatives, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and quality.

Role Responsibilities

• Staff and student management (HR Management)
• Monitor and review budgets, expenditures, and forecasts.
• Create and implement strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures.
• Identifying, developing and implementing new Bushwise programmes and courses. This includes ensuring standards are being met with current programmes as well as designing new curriculum and syllabus for new programmes.
• Assisting with the management of the Bushwise Student Placement Program and its expansion into other countries.
• Ensuring all operations are in line with our mission of ‘Students@heart’ and ‘Commitment to Quality’
• Online Course high level management of current programmes and designing of new programmes.
• Broadening and maintaining our existing network of partners
• Events and Function planning
• Continuous monitoring of student and staff feedback
• Prepare reports and presentations for senior management
• Support Director in all aspects of the business when needed

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

• Exceptional and demonstrable track record of operations & project management, preferably of multiple hubs/destinations
• Excellent management skills and experience.
• Strong commercial understanding.
• Ability to effectively deliver commercial and financial models.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience with managing of staff
• Understanding of Labour Law Practices
• Understanding of Mental Health awareness
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional Computer Literacy.
• Passionate about education, training and standards in the Field Guiding Industry.
• Experience working and/or networking in the safari lodge industry.
• Highly organised and efficient
• Technically proficient
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Experience Conflict resolution and complaints handling

Advantageous:

• Teaching background and curriculum development an advantage
• Educational / training experience
• FGASA Qualifications (preferable)
