Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000

WHO WE ARE

The True Measure Collaborative’s mission is to foster collaboration and build educator capacity in service of equitable educational opportunities for all students – especially exceptional learners.

We serve as a full partner to district and charter public schools, offering robust, centralized expertise and supports that promote inclusive education in anti-racist environments. The TMC defines inclusive education as a school-wide data-based approach that ensures curriculum, instruction, learning environments, and school culture are designed to provide equitable access to every student.

Inclusive education ensures that students of all abilities belong and are educated together in a learning community where they feel safe, supported, and challenged, regardless of race, gender, or cultural differences. The TMC actively works to disrupt racist and discriminatory practices, policies, systems, and mindsets that affect exceptional learners and their peers.

The TMC is a program administered by Washington State Charter Schools Association (WA Charters), a Washington non-profit. This position will be an employee of WA Charters within the TMC program and report to TMC management. The TMC is in the process of spinning off from WA Charters to operate as an independent non-profit organization. As our organizational structure evolves, our mission, vision, and supports provided to client schools will remain consistent.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The primary responsibility of the Associate Director - Resource Development is to expand the financial resources available, via public and private grant opportunities, to the schools and districts we serve in support of improved outcomes for exceptional learners.

The TMC provides educators with training, coaching, and consultation to support schools in better serving exceptional learners. The Associate Director - Resource Development identifies public and private grant opportunities on behalf of the TMC and its client schools, notifies the applicant(s) of the opportunity, and provides technical assistance to the applicant(s) to support the submittal of strong proposals. School-specific technical assistance also includes the coordination of multiple applicants (local districts, the state education department (OSPI), service providers, etc.) to submit grant proposals as a consortium, when those opportunities increase the likelihood of funding for all parties involved. As part of the hands-on involvement with schools in the grant proposal process, the Associate Director - Resource Development may also play a critical role in strategically advising schools on how best to direct additional resources to serve exceptional learners.

In addition, the Associate Director - Resource Development collaborates with partner organizations and government agencies to advocate for public policy changes that result in increased public funding for special education in Washington state. For example, the Associate Director - Resource Development will lead and participate in advocacy efforts to improve the state’s Medicaid program, statewide public school funding formula, Safety Net funding, and other specialized grant programs, resulting in increased sustainable public revenues for schools to better serve exceptional learners.

    • Provide schools and districts with key strategies and insights to maximize likelihood of grant approval
