Major Function
World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organization, seeks an Associate Development Officer to join a dynamic team of fundraisers in the 10-state Western Region. For almost 60 years, WWF has been protecting life on our planet, fighting to restore species and places in more than 100 countries. Working closely with a core team based in the WWF-US San Francisco office, the Associate Development Officer will play a key role in expanding major gifts support from individuals. This passionate individual will collaborate with program and development colleagues across the US to craft and employ strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors at the major gift level ($25,000 or more.)
Location is negotiable within the state of California, with a strong preference to be based in greater San Francisco Bay Area or Los Angeles Metro Area.
Must have at least 2 years’ experience in a donor facing role.
Bachelor's degree preferred or must have 4 additional years of relevant work experience
Passion for WWF’s mission. Knowledge of conservation issues a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and best practices of non-profit major gifts development (or a closely related relationship management process).
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
A work style that includes self-motivation and flexibility with the ability to manage projects, set priorities, and work within deadlines.
Success working as an effective team member and within a collaborative culture.
Intellectual curiosity and sense of humor.
Must be willing to travel within western region approximately 40% of the time.
