SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking an archaeological crew lead to support our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Cultural Resource Porgram. This position is a regular, full-time, hourly position and will primarily be field-based. Under supervision of a Cultural Resources Team Lead, the crew lead will perform field and office tasks while working with and supervising crew members.
The crew lead will manage all aspects of fieldwork, supervising crews of archaeological field technicians. They may also assist with office-based tasks, including preparation of site forms and technical reports in support of a variety of renewable energy, oil and gas, energy transmission, transportation, and land development projects. Some projects include overtime hours or prevailing wage rates, and often require travel and overnight stays. Project-related travel and lodging costs are covered, and per diem is provided for project work requiring overnight stays. All regular status employees are eligible to participate in SWCA medical, dental, vision, employee assistance, wellness, life and disability plans, and are eligible to participate in the SWCA 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan and Trust. In addition, a technical (i.e., cell phone) allowance is offered. Compensation starts at $21.00/hr, but can be negotiated based on individual experience and qualifications.
Anticipated fieldwork will primarly occur in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia, athough travel throughout the Midwest and Midatlantic is expected. Additionally, travel may extend to New England and the Southeast to support SWCA office's in those regions.
