The mission of American Bird Conservancy (ABC) is to conserve birds and their habitats – the places birds need to thrive – across the Americas. We are a growing group of 125+ dedicated staff, located across the United States and with a network of partners from Canada to Chile. Each year, we grow in budget and staff, and we deliver more results aimed at preventing bird species extinctions and reversing declines that are reducing populations of nearly all bird groups. Primary Duties:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for working on or assisting with an array of financial functions including: payroll daily deposits, accounts payable and other duties as assigned.
This position requires a broad knowledge of ABC programs and structure. Work requires initiative, flexibility, accuracy, and attention to detail. The post holder reports to the Finance Manager.
Position Requirements:
Associate’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
2-5 years’ work experience in similar role, or combination of education and experience (at least 1-year experience working with non-profit organization).
Experience using accounting software
Proficiency with office computers and equipment.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel; knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs is preferred.
Ability to work on deadline.
Teamwork and collaboration skills
Project management skills
Attention to detail
Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
Background screening required
Authorized to work in the U.S.
